Yeelite Beauty is the hair-care brand of Yeelite Inc., a Canadian company headquartered in Ottawa. We design next-generation styling tools — and our first invention changed what we thought a straightener should do.
The problem
Faster heat hit a wall.
Our designer has worked in the hairdressing industry through every generation of styling tools. Heaters evolved from mica to PTC to MCH; maximum temperatures climbed from 180°C to 230°C; heat-up times fell from three minutes to one.
Then progress stalled. Pushing more power into the heater added safety risk without making it meaningfully faster. So instead of generating more heat, we asked a different question: how do we stop losing it?
Working with researchers at a university research centre for more than a year, our engineers redesigned the heating assembly to minimize heat loss — reaching 230°C in about 30 seconds while using energy more efficiently.

The breakthrough
Then we added water.
Our first fast-heating prototype straightened beautifully — but left hair dry and stiff. That’s the reason so many people want great hair yet avoid straighteners altogether.
We tried misting hair before straightening, and the difference was immediate: hair came out soft and smooth. Our fast-heating module could flash that water into steam that surrounded the hair, shielding it from the heat.
We went further. A new surface treatment let the plates hold an even film of water until it all turned to steam, and a ribbed plate structure kept hair taut with minimal contact. The steam lingered long enough for the hair to absorb it — leaving it straight, soft, smooth and cool.
It no longer felt right to call it a straightener. It had become a steam hair caring & styling iron: Steam Magic™.
